Waterfront Toronto
Leadership Programs, Stakeholder Collaboration
The Waterfront Toronto Green Building Requirements were developed to drive green building performance and transform the market. This project introduced LEED to Canada, at scale and regularly updated performance, working collaboratively supporting the CIty of Toronto Green Development Standard advancement.
At part of her work as Director of Environment and Innovation at Waterfront Toronto, Lisa directed the development and implementation of performance based expectations for builder partners on the waterfront. These green building requirements were periodically updated to ensure they represented market transformation. The collaborative process engaged major stakeholders including the development industry to test feasibility and adoption. In 2012, this initiative won a Globe Award for urban leadership.
